About us
Energy of Waves, Carry It to Tomorrow.
SOWEC has evolved from a research project at Bahçeşehir University into an entrepreneurial initiative, securing investment through the TÜBİTAK 1512 program and becoming a formal company. Currently, it continues its R&D activities on its existing MVP.
As of 2025, it plans to launch its commercial product and commence energy production operations.
What are we doing?
SOWEC is an energy system technology that converts wave energy into electrical energy.
With its innovative product, it enables installation along a suitable coastline to transform the potential energy of waves into electrical energy.
We continue our research and development efforts on our technology to efficiently harness the energy of the seas, starting in Turkey and expanding to international markets!
OUR GOALS
Supporting Sustainability
Over the past two years, we embarked on a remarkable journey by participating in prestigious competitions and global summits dedicated to sustainability, clean energy, and renewable resources. Along the way, we had the privilege of meeting people who share our passion and experienced the excitement of having them join us on this incredible journey.
Powering the Future with Energy
SOWEC is not just a system; it is a vision brought to life. It is a technology that captures the limitless energy of waves and converts it into electricity. Our current focus is to lead the green transformation revolution in the internal energy consumption of ports and industrial coastal facilities.
Be a Part of the Solution: "Wave The Future!"
You, our global community, are receiving an open invitation to be part of the solution. Together, we are capturing the untapped potential of our seas, supporting sustainability, and redefining the way we consume energy.
WAVE ENERGY
Wave energy is a type of renewable energy generated by harnessing the oscillating motion created by wind on waves. Unlike hydroelectric power, this energy source utilizes the wave movements and currents in seas and oceans to produce energy.
Oceans cover nearly 75% of the Earth's surface, which means Wave Energy holds immense potential.
The World Health Organization (WHO) now defines air pollution as "the world's largest environmental health risk." At SOWEC, we aim to contribute to solving this critical problem.
